To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the potential merits of providing centrally funded 100% business-rates relief to charity shops operated by hospices; and what estimate he has made of the annual cost of that measure.

Charitable rate relief provides up to 80% business rates relief to eligible properties. Local Authorities have powers to award further discretionary relief, including up to 100% relief. Charity shops operated by hospices benefit from the business rates re...
