To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what assessment she has made of the effectiveness of applying a second homes council tax premium to owners of fire-damaged properties awaiting repair or remediation.

There is no specific council tax exemption for properties damaged by fire. However, where a property needs a significant amount of work in order to be inhabited again, it may be removed from the council tax valuation list by the Valuation Office (VO). It ...
