To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether the permanent appointment of a new Permanent Under-Secretary is being undertaken through open and fair competition; and whether an external recruitment firm has been hired.

The competition to fill the FCDO Permanent Under-Secretary role has been undertaken through fair and open competition. An external recruitment firm was not hired to support the appointment.
