To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, why the current level of funding for research into kidney disease is so low, particularly in comparison with that available for cancer research.

The Department funds research primarily through the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). The NIHR does not generally allocate funding to specific conditions and funds research through open and fair competition and peer review, to ensure...
