To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what assessment he has made of the potential impact of designation under section 62A on local democratic accountability in the determination of major planning applications.

The proportion of major planning applications determined by Cherwell District Council that were overturned on appeal was 12% in 2023-24 and 9% in 2024-25. Data for 2025-26 is not yet available. These figures are drawn from published statistics in Live Tab...
