To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the adequacy of access to public electric vehicle charging infrastructure by the time of the ban on new petrol and diesel cars in 2030.

An estimate of potential future demand for charge points was originally published in 2022 in Taking Charge: the National Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Strategy and ranged from 280,000 to 720,000 in 2030. This estimate was updated in 2024 to a r...
