To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, how many (a) crypto and (b) digital asset firms have been granted licences to operate by the Financial Conduct Authority; and how many and what proportion of applications were rejected in the last three years.

The Government launched an anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing regime for cryptoassets in January 2020. This means UK cryptoasset exchange providers and custodian wallet providers are now in scope of the UK’s Money Laundering and Terrori...
