To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether he has made an assessment of the potential impact of the changes made to the death certification process implemented in September 2024 on the time taken to process death certificates.

The Government is monitoring the impact of the death certification reforms which came into legal effect on 9 September 2024. Early data indicates the median time taken to register a death appears to have risen by one day, from seven days to eight. This fi...
